Monte-Grande

    My father fought in the Italian campaign, he was at Monte cassino and monte grande. He’s name was George Fone and was with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders and was fighting at the age of 16, like many they lived about there age to fight for king and country. He survived the war and was posted to Palestine after the war with the Argylls. He died at the age of 90 just over five years ago.
