3rd Battalion, 8th Punjab regiment

I’m looking for information about the experiences and serving members of this battalion as I believe my grandfather may have served with it. He was an Indian officer, and later became a Pakistani army officer when this regiment was transferred at Partition.

His name was Attaullah Kalim. I always thought my father’s tale that my grandfather served at Monte Cassino was a wild exaggeration, but I think it may be true!
