Having just watched the Cenotaph parade I was interested to hear of the Italy Star Association. My father was in the invasion of Sicily and spent some time in Italy (notably I think San Pancrazio). He never wanted any of his service medals believing that those who deserved them never returned – but as his daughter with children and grandchildren of my own I would love to know if it is possible to have those medals or even just the Italy medal to keep the spirit of remembrance alive for my father’s descendants who would be very proud. One of my sons is now ex Royal Navy and very interested in following this up. I do possess a few photos of my father in uniform and relaxing in Italy during the war.
