I am researching the above Officer who was born in Canada in 1920. I thought he was in 2Bn but from his movements I am now thinking 6Bn. He served on an Emergency Commission in North Africa, Italy and Greece. He ended up in Berlin, probably as part of BAOR before demob in 1949. He played rugby for Scotland and the Lions in 1950, returned to Canada and passed away in 1979.
Can anyone confirm his Bn or point me towards other info? I have some photos kindly supplied by his family near Edinburgh.

      Aidan.

If it helps, BJG Madden wrote a History of 6th Battakion Black Watch. Being an officer, it is highly likely that he will be mentioned.

Alternatively, you can look at the War Diaries of 6 BW where, each month, a Return of Officers had to be submitted as part of the War Diary so his name will come up.

6 BW were part were part of 12 Infantry Brigade who were themselves part of 4 Infantry Division. That Division served in all three locations that you describe.

      Regards

      Frank
