My Mother as my Father never talked about the war. Said he took trucks up a road that was very easy targets for German planes. He was mentioned in dispatches could this be the reason. When he got to northern Italy he was told he spoke a version of Italian i.e. simular to cockney slang. Dad was a Cpl storeman in the RAF. I have his war medals.
