Filippe Sciacca, Finding out my grandfathers story

Hello,

I am hoping that you can help me

I am trying to find out what happened to my grandfather during the war. I was always told he was in the navy & he died rescuing allied troops on a sinking ship and nothing more. His name was Filippe Sciacca and he was from Genoa. I hope someone can point me in the right direction to try & fill out his story.
