Hello, I’m trying to find out more about my Father’s war in Italy but have little information at hand. He was a gunner in the Royal Artillery and was known as Geordie (George Havelock). He joined up at the beginning of the war in County Durham and also served in the Africa campaign. He was wounded by mortar fire at Cassino. If anyone knew him or remembers a relative mentioning him I’d love to hear from you (long shot I know!). Proud to be a D Day dodgers Son!

This will give a full explanation of his time in the Army and the units that he served in.
