My father was awarded the Military Medal for gallantry on 21 Dec 1944, serving with 260/84 HAA Battery RA. I believe it was awarded for actions taken close to Ferrara but would very much like to know what was happening at that time and where it was. Where could I find this information please? Does anyone know?

Do get in touch with me through my website at http://www.cassinobattlefields.co.uk and I will track down the citation. 21 Dec 44 is likely to be the date of publication in the London Gazette. If I am right then your father’s action was probably a few months earlier.
It would be good to find out where.
