Stanley Gould, 8th Army

I am trying to find any information on my late father, Stanley Sylvester Gould, who served in the 8th Army in WW2: North Africa including El Alemaine and I believe Italy too, at Monte Casino. I understand he may have been involved in vehicle transport, movement of men and equipment etc but know little else. Stan was from Leeds and died in 1981. Any information greatly appreciated.

You need to apply for your father’s Service Record from the Army Personal Centre in Glasgow.

That will tell you exactly where and with him he served.

If he was at Cassino, do come back to me.
