Dad’s War by Howard Reid



Dad’s War by Howard Reid is an interesting read in which Howard follows his fathers footsteps in Italy. Captain Ian Reid was an officer in The Black Watch who was taken prisoner in North Africa and held in Italy. He escaped and was recaptured a number of times but finally made it back to the allied front line. In this fascinating book Howard follows his fathers escape route and meets the relatives of some of the Italians who helped his father during the war.

    Outstanding book, Captain Reid was a close friend of my late father-in-law and I’m told the book is totally authentic.
