Participating in the Sicily, Arnhem  & Crossing Battles this book gives a first had account of the experiences of a Glider Pilot.

As a member of the Glider Pilot Regiment he took part in operation Ladbroke. Flying from Airfield F, Goubrine No.2 and landing near Zone Field E. He flew as the 2nd pilot of a Waco, chalk no. 110, alongside his 1st pilot Capt. Boucher -Giles. They carried members of ‘H’ Company, 1st battalion Border Regiment, along with a 6 pounder anti -tank gun. He took part in the defence of the Ponte Grande bridge and was captured by the Italians.
